Peppermint Hydrosol

Hydrosols are subtly aromatic floral waters that are produced by way of distillation.  Water soluble constituents of the fresh plant, both aromatic and therapeutic, are captured and carried over, as well as small amounts of essential oils.  Unlike pure essential oils, hydrosols are generally gentle and safe for everyone and do not need further dilution before being used on the skin.

Hydrosols are hydrating to the skin.  This isn't to be confused with an oil, which is moisturizing to the skin.  Our skin craves and requires both a water based and oil based component to be fully nourished.  When it comes to skin care, it turns out water and oil DO mix!  Water and oil combined are the best for combatting dry, dull and dehydrated skin, and flood your skin with nutrients + provides resilliency to your skins protective barrier.  Glowing, supple and nourished skin requires both oil, and water!

Spritz your hydrosol on your freshly cleansed, damp face and let dry for a few seconds.  Add ~5 drops of your face oil to your palm, and ~3 spritzes of hydrosol.  Emulsify by rubbing your palms together (see video in next slide) and pat into your skin.  Then use your serum, seal with a creme or balm, and spritz your face with hydrosol one last time. 
Aside from skincare, Hydrosols directly impact our emotions.  Inhaling these botanical waters, spraying them into our sphere awakens our Spirit, uplifts and shifts our emotional state.  The element of water itself is a wise teacher, supporting us in surrendering to the flow of life, walking along the path of least resistance, embracing change.  The plants themselves, earth element, quite literally bring us into the most present moment and keep us in our body.  Hydrosols have a gentle affect on our psyche, and after working with a hydrosol, whether distiling it or spraying it on our body, the subtle affects linger long after as we move through an alchemical process of our own.  This is truly mind, body and spirit medicine.
